Fishkill

View Full Profile

FISHKILL is a three-piece band that plays hard rock with an alternative style, featuring energetic songs that are fun to listen to and may make you think if you listen carefully.  It's heavy guitar-based rock, although it has been classified as punk and 80's new wave rock.

Formed in 1986, Fishkill started as a one-man recording project, debuting on the Internet in May 2001 with a compilation of pre-recorded material titled "Past Mistakes." Fishkill released two more CDs of new material until 2005, when they became a full three-piece band and have played throughout the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area.

Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Chris Nelson's vocal style has been compared to Joey Ramone (The Ramones), Mike Love (The Beach Boys), and Ray Davies (The Kinks). His guitar work is inspired by The Who's Pete Townshend and Paul Weller of the Jam. Drummer Doug Klinger provides a dark undercurrent inspired by heavy metal that gives the band a unique presence while still being fun to listen to. Bassist Jack Hawk has his own unique style of playing to complement the guitar work by weaving complex bass lines through the guitar notes creating a tapestry of sound. Each member's individual contributions add to the unique blend of styles, turning it into music that's built to last. The dynamic force they create while playing carries the audience into the excitement of the performance.

In actuality Fishkill strives to define its own category within the musical framework of rock.  The basic goal is to give the listener a good time, like a band playing at this great party or concert you were at that you'll never forget.  It's all about fun, pure and simple and everything else is window dressing.

Fishkill is available on the Rhapsody/Real Jukebox, Apple i-Tunes, and BuyMusic.com online digital music services. The CDs are available through CD Baby.com, Tower Records.com and Best Buy.

Their latest single "Unwind" has been featured on WRVV FM's "Open Mic Nite" show in Harrisburg, PA and Kutztown University Radio's "Scavenger" program.

Bob Klein

Composer, Recording Engineer, Singer-Songwriter

Blues, Rock, Folk

Now living and loving in Glen Gardner, NJ, Bob Klein has been a composer, recording engineer, and performer in the Harrisburg area and environs since the 1970s.  In the early 80s, working with renowned Harrisburg guitarist and composer Jim Gates and recognized (infamous!) Baltimore guitarist Andy Rathgeber, a respectable (albeit at times politically incorrect!) body of work was created at Jim’s 4-track tape-based studio in Meade Heights housing area at the Capital Campus of Penn State.  Others were created with Andy using a Tascam 4-track cassette machine.  Examples of these tunes are available on this site.  Many of the tunes on this site are from a remixed CD engineered by Andy Rathgeber.  Newer tunes were created by Bob using digital equipment (see below).

Digital Remastering Services

Bob has recently upgraded to digital recording; his studio includes a Roland VS-840gx, a Fostex MR-8, and a ZOOM PS-04 multitrack recorders.  His most recent works, “Chicken Nite at Tony’s” and "Rafferty's Rap" -- written for local businesses -- are available on this site.  Additional recent work includes the digital remastering of works from Harrisburg-Lancaster based bands Wind and Wood and C2H.

Music Services / Composition for Special/Corporate Events

Bob also composes and records theme and promotional music and computer graphics/logos and as a consultant.  As an example, “Step UP!”, a tune he wrote/recorded for the 1999 Vantis WW sales conference in Chicago, is available on this site.  This song, a Chicago Blues-style rocker, was recorded and then sent to individuals within Vantis (including the company President and CEO) who Bob knew to be musicians.  The tune was played live by this group for the entire conference on the last evening of the event; no one – save the musicians themselves and possibly a spouse or two – knew this was going to go down.  The result was incredible – people were literally up dancing on tables!  Everyone agreed the music – performed by the very leaders of the team – was the highlight of the conference and made it the most memorable, inspiring sales conference they’d ever attended. If you have a special event coming up, and you’d like to have music composed, recorded, and/or performed for that event, please contact Bob through this site.  Thanks!

Peace Love Laughter Music,

Bob
